Last year was a busy one. We moved from Maryland to Virginia. We started new businesses. I started this blog. We even managed to get some travel in! The only new country I visited in 2017 was Sweden, but it had been on my list for 20 years, and it did not disappoint.
My travel highlights for 2017 are:
- Exploring art and food in Stockholm, Sweden. We spent a chilly week in September exploring Sweden, starting with several days in Stockholm.
- A long overdue visit to Uppsala, Sweden. Back in the day, I had decided to study my junior year abroad, in Uppsala, but a college romance led me, instead, to Sydney, Australia. Nearly 17 later, I finally made it!
The fall colors and spectacular waterfalls of West Iceland. This was my second trip to Iceland, the first being over 15 years ago.
Exploring the natural beauty of the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. This was a random December weekend away, and it turned out awesome! Can’t wait to visit in warmer weather.
Watching the total solar eclipse, outside of Charleston, South Carolina. This sort of thing would have never been on my radar, but my husband was on the ball, and booked accommodation early. Truly an amazing event to witness.
Summer hiking in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I grew up on California and have been to Tahoe hundreds of times – though this was only the 2nd time I’ve been summer hiking. Hope I can squeeze another one in 2018, and bring the husband!
Starting this blog! It’s been a slow process, and so much work! My god – SO MUCH WORK. But I’m happy to be making progress on a goal that I put on the back burner for years.
